The Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 is equipped with Wi-Fi and HSDPA for high-speed data connectivity

Switching on: Step 1
On the Samsung Omnia Pro B7610's home screen, press the Status Bar in the top right of the display
Switching on: Step 2
A set of icons appears offering shortcuts to several options. Press the icon that looks like signal strength bars
Switching on: Step 3
The Wireless Manager menu appears, offering a set of connectivity options. Press Wi-Fi
Switching on: Step 4
In a few moments, a green dot appears in the panel, indicating that Wi-Fi has been switched on

Connecting: Step 1
When Wi-Fi is switched on, a pop-up panel will appear at the bottom of the display if any Wi-Fi network is detected within range of the phone. If it's the network you wish to connect to, press OK to select
Connecting: Step 2
A further prompt appears. Press Connect
Connecting: Step 3
If the Wi-Fi network you're connecting to is secure, you will be prompted to enter a Network Key code. This is the password or passcode previously set up by the person responsible for the Wi-Fi network
Connecting: Step 4
Using the soft keyboard or slide out keyboard, type in the key code. Press Connect. In a few moments you will be connected to the Wi-Fi network. You can now launch the browser or use other online applications

Searching: Step 1
In the home screen with Wi-Fi switched on (see above), press the status bar at the top of the display

A panel of shortcut icons appears. Press the Wi-Fi icon (it resembles a keyhole, with a small square on top of a triangle)
Searching: Step 3
A Wi-Fi settings screen appears. Any Wi-Fi networks within range are displayed as circles surrounding a larger central Wi-Fi button. This can be pressed to turn Wi-Fi on or off). Press Search to look for new Wi-Fi networks
Searching: Step 4
Press the circle representing the Wi-Fi network to which you wish to connect and drag it into the centre circle. As before, if it is unsecured, you will be connected. If it is a secure network, you will be prompted for the network key code

Type in the Wi-Fi network key code and press Connect

The phone will be connected to the Wi-Fi network. On the screen, it is indicated by a flashing blue line linking the two circles. You can now launch the browser or use other online services via the Wi-Fi connection

How to set up and use Wi-Fi connectivity on the Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 Windows Phone
The Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 is a versatile Windows Phone running Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional. It sports a slide out Qwerty keyboard plus a high level range of functionality and high-speed data connectivity options - including Wi-Fi.
Setting up and using Wi-Fi on the Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 is straightforward, requiring only a few presses of the touchscreen menu. The Wi-Fi functionality enables you to connect to home Wi-Fi hubs, office Wi-Fi networks or public Wi-Fi hotspots.

Switchng on Wi-Fi
You can use shortcuts to switch on or off Wi-Fi quickly and easily.
- On the Samsung Omnia Pro B7610's home screen, press the Status Bar in the top right of the display.
- A set of icons appears offering shortcuts to several options. Press the icon that looks like signal strength bars.
- The Wireless Manager menu appears, offering a set of connectivity options. Press Wi-Fi.

Connecting to Wi-Fi networks
- When Wi-Fi is switched on, a pop-up panel will appear at the bottom of the display if any Wi-Fi network is detected within range of the phone. If it's the network you wish to connect to, press OK to select.

- If the Wi-F network is unsecured, you will be connected straight away. If it is secure, you will be prompted to enter a Network Key code. This is the password or passcode previously set up by the person responsible for the Wi-Fi network (you or someone in your house for a home Wi-Fi hub, the network administrator for office Wi-Fi , or the service provider for a public hotspot).
- Using the soft keyboard or slide out keyboard, type in the key code. Press Connect. In a few moments you will be connected to the Wi-Fi network. You can now launch the browser or use other online applications.
Searching for and connecting to new Wi-Fi networks
If you have Wi-Fi switched on, from the home screen you can quickly search for other Wi-Fi networks and connect in a similar way as outlined above.
- In the home screen with Wi-Fi switched on (see above), press the status bar at the top of the display.

[Alternatively, from the home screen press Start in the top left of the display and select Settings in the Main Menu. In the Settings Menu press Network Settings, and in the Network Settings menu press Wi-Fi.] - A Wi-Fi settings screen appears. Any Wi-Fi networks within range are displayed as circles surrounding a larger central Wi-Fi button. This can be pressed to turn Wi-Fi on or off). Press Search to look for new Wi-Fi networks.

- When you move out of range of the connected Wi-Fi network, the next time you come within range, you will be able to connect automatically without having to enter a key code.
- To turn Wi-Fi off, follow Steps 1 to 3 and press the Wi-Fi option to switch off Wi-Fi. Alternatively, you can switch off Wi-Fi from the Settings menu or by using the optional connectivity Widget panel function on the home screen.
Finding the Samsung Omnia Pro's MAC address
If you're connecting to a Wi-Fi network that requires pre-authorisation before connection (even with the correct pre-shared key), you may require the phone's MAC address. This is a 12-character address that the administrator of the network may need to pre-authorise your phone to connect. It may be automatically detected when you try to sign onto the network.
- In the home screen, press Start (in the top left corner of the display).
- In the main menu, scroll down and press Settings.
- Press the right hand tab towards the top of the screen to change from Basic Settings to Advanced Settings.
- In the Advanced Settings menu, press System.
- In the System menu, scroll down and press Version.
- In the Version menu, press Device.
- Here, under the Wi-Fi sub-heading, you'll find the Samsung Omnia Pro's MAC address - a 12-charcacter code. Input this into the appropriate place in the Wi-Fi router access set up procedure.
