The Samsung Omnia Pro's Bluetooth connectivity can be used to transfer files and communicate with a range of other Bluetooth-enabled devices

Switching on: Step 1
On the Samsung Omnia Pro B7610's home screen, press the Status Bar in the top right of the display
Switching on: Step 2
A set of icons appears offering shortcuts to several options. Press the icon that looks like signal strength bars
Switching on: Step 3
A Wireless Manager menu appears, offering a set of connectivity options. Press Bluetooth
Switching on: Step 4
In a few moments. a green dot appears in the panel, indicating that Bluetooth has been switched on

Pairing: Step 1
In the Wireless Manager menu (Switching on: Step 3), press Menu at the bottom of the display. A menu appears. Press Bluetooth Settings
Pairing: Step 2
The Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 appears as a large circular icon in the middle of the display. Any other visible Bluetooth-enabled devices within range are displayed as smaller circles around this
Pairing: Step 3
To pair the Samsung Omnia Pro with one of the Bluetooth devices displayed onscreen, press the appropriate icon and drag it onto the large central icon
Pairing: Step 4
You are prompted for a passcode for the device you are connecting to. If it is a Bluetooth headset, this may be pre-stored and could be something simple such as '1234' or '0000'. This isn't code you need to remember for security purposes, so if you have the option to select a code, you can choose something simple

Pairing: Step 5
When you have typed in the passcode, press Done
Pairing: Step 6
If you are pairing with a PC, phone or similar Bluetooth-enabled device, the device you're connecting to will also prompt you for the PIN code. Type in the same PIN code into the paired device and press Pair to continue. The newly paired device will be shown onscreen with a blue edge
Pairing: Step 7
Drag and drop the paired icon on to the large central to establish a Bluetooth data connection
Pairing: Step 8
Select the option you want to use onscreen and press Done

Settings: Step 1
To make the Samsung Omnia Pro visible to other Bluetooth devices, or to change the name in the Bluetooth Settings screen, press Menu

A menu pops up. Press Device Info

The Bluetooth Device Info menu appears. To switch on visibility, press Enable Visibility To Other Devices
Settings: Step 4
A green dot appears next to this option, indicating that Bluetooth visibility has been switched on. To save this, press Done

Settings: Step 5
The default name of the Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 displayed to other Bluetooth devices within range is 'GT-B7610'. To change this to something more personal, in the Device Info menu, press the Device Name panel. Type in the new name. Press Done
Sending: Step 1
In the photo gallery or other folders, locate an image or other file you wish to send via Bluetooth. Press to select
Sending: Step 2
Press Menu
Sending: Step 3
Press Send Via

Sending: Step 4
Press Bluetooth
Sending: Step 5
The phone will search for other Bluetooth devices within range. Press the one to which you wish to send the file
Sending: Step 6
The device you're sending to will be promoted to accept the file via Bluetooth. Press Accept and the file will be sent to the other device. This will be confirmed onscreen

How to set up and use Bluetooth on the Samsung Omnia Pro B7610
Setting up and using Bluetooth to send files and communicate wirelessly with other Bluetooth devices
The Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 is a well connected Windows Mobile-powered smartphone. It has HSDPA mobile data connectivity and Wi-Fi support for high-speed data, enabling users to get fast online connections wherever they are.
In addition, the Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 has Bluetooth connectivity onboard - enabling fast wireless data transfer and communication to other Bluetooth devices within a 10-metre range of the phone.
This enables users of the Samsung Omnia Pro to send images, videos, document files and so on to PCs, phones and so on, and to connect to wireless headsets, speakers, headphones, car kits, printers and more.
Bluetooth is easy to set up and use. This radio-based technology allows wireless, secure connections over short distances (up to 10 metres) with other suitably equipped Bluetooth devices, without having to be in direct line of sight.
Here's how to set up the Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 to use Bluetooth and to pair with other Bluetooth-enabled devices.
Switching on Bluetooth
At any time, you can switch Bluetooth on quickly via the phone's home screen shortcuts.
- On the Samsung Omnia Pro B7610's home screen, press the Status Bar in the top right of the display.
- A set of icons appears offering shortcuts to several options. Press the icon that looks like signal strength bars.
- A Wireless Manager menu appears, offering a set of connectivity options. Press Bluetooth.
- In a few moments. a green dot appears in the panel, indicating that Bluetooth has been switched on.
if you want to switch off Bluetooth, repeat the procedure above and press the Bluetooth panel to turn it off.
Pairing with other Bluetooth devices
You can now set up the phone to pair with other Bluetooth devices.
- In the Wireless Manager menu (Switching on: Step 3), press Menu at the bottom of the display. A menu appears. Press Bluetooth Settings.
- The Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 appears as a large circular icon in the middle of the display. Any other visible Bluetooth-enabled devices within range are displayed as smaller circles around this. (Note: you can switch Bluetooth off and on by simply pressing the central icon, or Search for new Bluetooth devices by pressing Search on the bottom left of the display.)
[Alternatively, you can access Bluetooth settings from the home screen via the main menus. Press Start in the top left of the display. In the main menu, press Settings. In the Basic Settings tab, press Network Settings. Press Bluetooth.] - To pair the Samsung Omnia Pro with one of the Bluetooth devices displayed onscreen (so you can automatically connect to it when in range), press the appropriate icon and drag it onto the large central icon.

Changing Bluetooth settings on the Samsung Omnia Pro
You can choose whether or not your Samsung Omnia Pro is visble to other Bluetooth equipped devices that are in range or change the name displayed to other Bluetooth devices.
- To make the Samsung Omnia Pro visible to other Bluetooth devices, or to change the name in the Bluetooth Settings screen, press Menu.
- A menu pops up. Press Device Info.
- The Bluetooth Device Info menu appears. To switch on visibility, press Enable Visibility To Other Devices.
- A green dot appears next to this option, indicating that Bluetooth visibility has been switched on. To save this, press Done.
- The default name of the Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 displayed to other Bluetooth devices within range is 'GT-B7610'. To change this to something more personal, in the Device Info menu, press the Device Name panel. Type in the new name. Press Done.
The new name will now be displayed when your visibility is switched on to any other Bluetooth-equipped handset within range. You can switch off visibility by repeating the steps above.
Sending files via Bluetooth

- Press Menu.
- Press Send Via.
- Press Bluetooth.
- The phone will search for other Bluetooth devices within range. Press the one to which you wish to send the file.
