£3000 over two years for Orange ‘Unlimited’ contract
Richard Goodwin
Orange announces its first Unlimited contract for the iPhone - but at £3000 over two years, it's hardly cheap.
Orange has snagged the lucrative rights to the iPhone, effectively putting an end to O2’s exclusivity. However, Orange has also released an ‘Unlimited’ contract for the iPhone, which over a two year period, will set the customer back £3000.
The deal, which will be available to Orange iPhone users’ next week, is priced at a whooping £122.34 per month - although, this is set to rise to £125 by the end of the year.
According to Orange there are no strings attached, and you really will get unlimited minutes and texts - even the Terms and Conditions seem adhere to this promise. However, there is still a 750MB fair usage cap on data, which does seem a little unnecessary considering the cost of the plan.
Free WiFi - BT OpenZone - has also been bundled into the package, as has 3GB tethering allowance per month, and 100 free Euro roaming minutes.
Currently, the iPhone is the only device Orange is offering this unlimited deal on. Whether of not it will be rolled out on other devices such as the HTC Hero and Blackberry range is unknown at present.
The iPhone3GS, which over 2 years on Orange's "unlimited contract" will cost £3000
