Nokia describes its vision of the future at The Way We Live Next 3.0 conference
Heikki Norta, head of corporate strategy at Nokia, outlined a conceptual vision of the future at this week’s The Way We Live Next 3.0 conference, which included smart ecosystems, advanced cloud services, huge improvements in data processing, and contextual awareness.
According to Nokia Conversations, Norta’s proposed vision of the future sees devices and services working together to de-clutter consumers lives, in what he describes as moving the relationship customers have with brands from merely a conversation - what it is at present -, to a continuous relationship.
In addition, Norta believes processing and connectivity will be significantly improved by 2015, which will assist in the development of smarter phones that can perform a multitude of tasks from streaming and projecting television, to actual holographic key boards.
However, the most interesting aspect of the 2015 concept is the idea of Clouds, and how they will be used in conjunction with mobile devices.
According to reports on Norta’s presentation, Contextual awareness will also be used in the transfer of information between device(s) and Cloud so data isn’t necessarily stored on the device, or in a cloud. Instead, it will fluctuate between the two - pulling information down when it needs it, and sending it back up when it’s done.
Another key concept mentioned was the consolidation of all Nokia services in a global Nokia Cloud service that can be accessed by hundreds of millions of users the world over.
