Nokia E72 finally lands in UK

Nokia’s highly anticipated E72 QWERTY device, which was announced back in June, has finally landed in the UK and is priced at £360 on the Nokia website.

The E72, which is part of Nokia’s E-Series business-oriented line of devices, is clearly a device which sets out to take on the Blackberry Bold’s of the world head on - it’s even taken a few design quirks from it.

The Nokia device ships with a Symbian S60 Features Pack 2 (V3.2), a five megapixel camera with flash, auto-focus, and geo-tagging ability, as well as voice control and Microsoft Office 2007 support.

Clearly, the Nokia E72 is an attempt to build on the gain generated by its predecessor's - the E71 - legacy.

"Despite the outstanding market performance of the Nokia E71, we still continually look for ways to enhance the device,” said Ilari Nurmi, Vice President at Nokia.

He added: “So we included the desktop like email experience from the Nokia E75 and gave it a new optical navigation key for more intuitive scrolling through menus, emails and fast panning of images. We also upgraded the camera to 5 megapixels and added a standard 3.5 mm audio jack."

In addition, the Nokia E72 features support for both personal and corporate push-email accounts, as well as IM support too.
