Orange offers free SMS & MMS Tweeting service
Richard Goodwin
Orange has announced a partnership with Twitter that will allow its users to upload both SMS and MMSs to the microblogging site for free.
Vodafone offered a similar deal back in March, which allowed its customers to send and receive Tweets for free via SMS.
According to the Twitter Blog: “Extending the power of the real-time network globally through the simple technology of SMS is a driving goal for Twitter.”
However, Orange, never a company to do things by halves, has gone one step further offering its customers the ability to send MMS photos to Twitter for free, which is the first time any mobile user has been able to upload pictures directly to Twitter for free.
According to reports, photos will be hosted by Orange’s photo-sharing website Snapshot, which automatically uploads the link for the photo along with the accompanying Tweet on Twitter.
However, there is some bad news: the amount of Tweets you can send and receive each day is capped to a set number.
