Android turns up the heat with help from ARM
Richard Goodwin
ARM Solutions today announced an alliance of technology firms that will seek to expand and build on the number of devices using Google’s open source Android operating system.
The premise behind what ARM has named the Solution Centre for Android is to actively encourage designers and developers that use ARM chips to incorporate open-source Android operating systems into their devices, which could be anything from smartphones, to PCs.
"ARM is the leading processor architecture for internet everywhere applications from mobile to the connected home and with that leadership, ARM is in a position to foster an innovative ecosystem to ensure that device manufacturers have the best development solutions at their disposal,” said Kevin Smith, VP Segment Marketing, ARM
He added: “The Solution Center for Android serves as a one-stop guide to provide developers with the tools and information they need to create innovative devices with applications that satisfy consumers' needs."
