Motorola Droid to be sold exclusively by Expansys in UK?
The Motorola Droid has made quite an impression across the pond with its powerful Android 2.0 OS and sleek design. However, if reports are to be believed, Motorola may have shot itself in the foot by agreeing an exclusive deal with Expansys to sell the device - solely - online.
According to reports, Expansys will commence selling the Motorola Droid from the 7th December, which will be known as the “Milestone” in the UK for a reported £449.99.
The “Milestone” will also be available on contract from T-Mobile. However, consumers will only be able to get it through Expansys, and not directly through T-Mobile, which is incredibly bizarre.
The T-Mobile contract through Expansys offers The Milestone at £49.99 with 700 minutes, unlimited texts, and 1GB of data allowance per month.
Whether this bizarre strategy will officially play out is unknown as both Motorola and T-Mobile were unavailable for comment. But considering the Droid has sold 800,000 units in the US already, it seems like Expansys may have landed quite an exclusive deal.
