EA Mobile has announced plans to remake the 80s classic arcade game Dragon’s Lair for the iPhone and iPod Touch
EA Mobile has announced plans to remake the 1983 vintage arcade game Dragon’s Lair - originally powered by a LaserDisc player - for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
The original game focussed on a single protagonist, Dirk the Daring Knight, who, much like Mario, his Italian plumbing counterpart, is on a mission to save a Princess - Princess Daphne to be precise.
Fortunately, fans of the original won't be disappointed as they will be able to play an Arcade Version of the game that contains the same adventure and storyline as the fondly remembered 27-year old title.
Dirk’s nemesis is a fire breathing dragon, aptly named Singe, who has taken the Princess captive inside an evil wizard’s castle. And obviously, as the game's central protagonist, it's your job to save her.
During the game Dirk is pitted against a variety of monsters, such as the Giddy Goons and the Lizard King, as he makes his way through the game’s cavernous levels and obstacles.
According to reports, Dragon’s Lair will be available at some point during December 2009. However, no official date or price has yet been released by EA.
