The Android 2.0 version of the HTC Passion, due for release before the end of 2009, has been delayed until next year
The highly anticipated Android 2.0 version of the HTC Passion, which was originally due to surface before the end of 2009, has had its release date pushed back into the new year, according to market sources.
The HTC Passion, which will be HTC’s first Android 2.0 - or even 2.1 - smartphone handset, was originally scheduled for a 2009 release but has been pushed back as HTC wishes to further advance the software used by the Passion, sources claimed.
The HTC Passion will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz CPU and equipped with a 3.5-inch multi-touch, OLED, capacitive touchscreen display.
In addition, market sources have confirmed that HTC is to release a new Android-powered with a full QWERTY keyboard at Mobile Congress 2010.
The new device, which is thought to be named the HTC Expresso, is to be the successor to this year’s success story, the HTC Hero.
