Motorola, the US mobile phone giant, is reported to be launching its own apps store, known as SHOP4APPS.
According to reports, Motorola are keen to mimick the success of Apple's Apps Store for its up-and-coming fleet of Android based handsets.
Motorola is set to launch its very own apps store for its ever increasing fleet of Android powered smartphones. The store, which is known as SHOP4APPS, is an attempt by the phone giant to tap into the lucrative apps market pioneered by Apple.
SHOP4APPS has still yet to launch, but the website Android and Me have confirmed its existance via a simple Google search.
Motorola's blog for SHOP4APPS has confirmed that the soon to be launched apps service will feature both paid and free applications.
In addition to this, the service is reported to have a feature known as 'My Locker' which will allow users to view their download history as well as re-install any apps they may have deleted or lost
Android and Me have also reported that a free MotoAppstore client will soon be made available for handsets which will allow users to access the SHOP4APPS store directly from the handset.
