Leaked images of HTC Bravo reveal optical trackpad

The HTC Bravo was announced last year and was expected to debut at this year’s Mobile World Congress. However, a leaked image of the up-and-coming device has revealed a few details about the device, namely that it features an optical trackpad.

The HTC Bravo, which is the obvious successor to 2009’s HTC Hero, has been reported to match Google’s Nexus One on all fronts. However, the leaked image of the Bravo shows it has one thing the Nexus One doesn’t - an optical trackpad.

The leaked image was first published by mobile phone comparison site, Omio, who said:

“Whilst Bravo may not be the final name for the device, we can confirm that the handset will be equipped with the latest Android build, the same 3.7-inch display and 5 megapixel autofocus camera currently seen on the Nexus One, and be available for free on a £35 per month tariff.”

In addition to this, it is expected that the HTC Bravo will offer improved navigation, have multi-touch functionality - pinch and zoom, just like the iPhone. The HTC Bravo is also expected to run HTC’s Sense UI, which has been made extremely popular by the HTC Hero.

This will be HTC’s third official attack on the iPhone - the first being the HTC Hero, then the Nexus One, and finally the third attempt, the HTC Bravo.

While there has been mixed receptions towards the Nexus One, HTC will have the opportunity to remedy any issues users’ had with the it and apply the solutions to the HTC Bravo. Could the HTC Bravo be the “iPhone killer” the Nexus One so wanted to be?
