Nokia has confirmed that its highly anticipated Nokia X6 16GB smartphone will be available online today and in the shops by 24 February.

The Nokia X6 16GB, which has all the features of its 32GB counterpart, will be available to pre-order from the Nokia online shop from 9am today (Wednesday). The handset is priced at a rather reasonable £299 SIM-free.

In addition to this, Nokia also confirmed that the X6 16GB will be available in stores from the 24 February “on tariffs as low as £25 per month”.

The X6 16GB, which is clearly geared towards the more musically inclined, will manage up to 35 hours of playback time. And if that wasn’t enough, Nokia have even decided to through in 25 free tracks from its Music Store when you purchase the device.

However, it’s not just all about the music - far from it. Nokia have also included a built-in motion sensor inside the X6 16GB, which they claim will make the gaming experience “far more fun”.

Specs wise, the Symbian (OS v9.4, Series 60 rel. 5) powered X6 16GB features a 3.2-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen, full 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity and also a 5 megapixel Carl Zeiss camera with autofocus, Dual LED flash and video light.

Mark Loughran, General Manager, Nokia UK, said:

“Whether you just call and text or want a device that gives you music, movies and games at the touch of a button, the X6 is where it’s at this spring.  Why carry around a music player or handheld game, when one phone can give you all the entertainment you need at a touch?  And with free navigation, the X6 16GB offers something for everyone.”

The X3 is also available to pre-order now from www.nokia.co.uk/shop at £129.
