Google Chrome Tablet concept video released
Richard Goodwin
A video has appeared on the Chromium website that reveals some of the details that will potentially appear on a Google Chrome Tablet.
The video of the Google Chrome Tablet concept shows the proposed tablet’s possible user-interface. The concept video illustrates that the tablet will support using certain aspects of the display simultaneously - such as writing a document or email and using the web.
According to The Telegraph, the concept video was put together by Glen Murphy, one of Google's Chrome OS designers.
In addition to this, the Telegraph also claimed that Google is in talks with - its best buddy - HTC, who is the main user of its Android mobile OS and built its Nexus One smartphone, about developing a touch-screen tablet.
The Chromium website has claimed that the device would need a 5 - 10-inch optimised touchscreen interface so users’ can easily manipulate programs and software on-screen.
Other potential specs include, multi-gesture, the ability to switch between portrait and landscape modes and a “dock” of programs that can either take centre-centre stage or be hidden.
The tablet, largely thanks to Apple’s iPad, is clearly going to be something of a big deal in the coming years, and it looks like Google wants a piece of the action.
