X2’s Windows iTablet due in April
Richard Goodwin
UK company X2 has revealed its Windows 7 powered iTablet, which features an Intel Atom processor, Flash support and will be available in shops by April.
Nearly every tech-headline during the last two weeks has been about Apple’s iPad. However, X2’s newest tablet-gadget, the iTablet, looks like it could be a worthy competitor to Apple’s much-talked about iPad.
The iTablet comes with Windows 7, an Intel Atom processor, 250GB of storage and a 12.1-inch multi-touch capacitive display.
However, one of its biggest assets, besides its Apple-crushing storage, is its ability to multi-task and run Flash video.
The iTablet will also feature a front mounted 1.3 megapixel camera, USB ports and an HDMI-out connection for sending content, such as videos, to a larger screen.
At 35mm, X2’s iTablet is significantly bulkier than Apple’s 13.4mm iPad. Nevertheless, for a slightly more girth users’ get a hell of a lot more storage, which is certainly a fair trade.
