MWC: Facebook announces new "Zero" service for mobile users

Facebook has announced that it is releasing a more “data-friendly” version of its website for mobile platforms at this year’s MWC.
The new service, which is called Facebook Zero, is designed especially for mobile users and will use up less of their precious data.
Facebook Zero will a text-only, low bandwidth version of the normal site with data heavy things like photos and uploading forms omitted.
The new mobile Facebook site can be accessed at ‘zero.facebook.com’.
At present the new website is up-and-running, but users’ will have to wait until operators give it the green light before they can begin using it.
