HTC Desire coming to 3 in April
Richard Goodwin
Following a packed press event at MWC, HTC have confirmed a UK release date for its highly anticipated HTC Desire which is due to land in April on 3.
3, as a network, has never really been much of a headline grabber. It’s more of an ambler, picking up the occasional decent handset every now and then. However, it’s really lucked out this time, and secured the HTC Desire, which is thought to be HTC’s finest creation to date.
Other networks that will be carrying the handset are Orange, T-Mobile, O2 and Vodafone, which is sure to give the HTC brand another almighty push onwards and upwards in the hearts and minds of UK tech-heads.
Specs wise, the HTC Desire is remarkably similar to the Nexus One, sporting a 3.7-inch OLED screen, Android 2.1, a new jigged-up version of the Sense UI, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and a 5 megapixel camera with flash.
No definite prices have been released as yet, but you’ll probably be able to pick on up for free on a £35 per month two year contract.
