Microsoft shows off Windows Phone 7 handset made by Samsung

Microsoft used the MIX 10 conference to briefly show off a 'new' handset, the Samsung 'slate', running Windows Phone 7 software.
Microsoft's director of Windows Phone program management, Joe Belfiore, showed a Samsung device, which looked very similar to the company's existing S60-based Omnia HD.
The Samsung Omnia is currently available a Symbian-based smartphone, which features a large 3.7in AMOLED screen, an 8 megapixel camera with 4X zoom, 8/16 GB of user memory and support for multi-tasking.
Industry experts said it looked like Samsung has basically reengineered the Omnia to run Windows Phone 7.
Belfiore said that the Samsung handset running Windows Phone 7 will offer a 'terrific experience with the camera.' However Microsoft's recent pronouncements about the Windows Phone 7 OS means that the handset will not be able to multitask, unlike its Symbian equivalent.
Belfiore also showed off two other handsets running Windows Phone 7 were an Acer prototype, previously shown off at February's Mobile World Congress, and an LG handset with a sliding QWERTY keyboard.
The Samsung Omnia Pro comes with a built-in keyboard
