Dell to launch world's lightest Android smartphone
Paul Nesbitt
Dell is in negotiations with networks as it prepares the UK launch of the Aero, which it claims will be the world's lightest Android phone.
Dell has not published any information on the Aero's weight, but it appears to be a remodeled version of the Mini 3i handset the company already sells in some Far East markets.
The Aero sports a 3.5in touchscreen display, with 640 by 360 pixel resolution. Along with 3G, GPS and WiFi, the Aero will come with a 5 megapixel camera (as opposed to the Mini 3i's 3 megapixel one).
Dell has developed its own modifications to the Android interface and the Aero will feature native apps for FaceBook, YouTube, Picasa and Flickr.
Dell has not yet confirmed the UK release date or pricing.
