LinkedIn comes to BlackBerry
Paul Nesbitt
Busy BlackBerry toting businessmen can now access their LinkedIn accounts from three ranges of BlackBerry smartphones – Tour, Bold and Curve – so long as they are running BlackBerry OS 4.3.0 or higher.
LinkedIn is the leading social network for business people, so it was surprising that so far the only LinkedIn smartphone apps previously available were for the more consumer-focused iPhone and Palm Pre handsets.
LinkedIn for BlackBerry is not dissimilar from the FaceBook for BlackBerry app. The homescreen lets you search for a contact, look at your message inbox, read invites, and browse through your list of friends/contacts alphabetically.
The LinkedIn client also enables you to integrate LinkedIn with your BlackBerry email, calendar and contacts apps, but you have to be running BlackBerry 4.6.0 or higher.
LinkedIn for BlackBerry enables you to 'walk into any interview or client meeting with ability to look up the details and connect with over 60 million professionals worldwide, in real time,' according to LinkedIn.
You can download LinkedIn for BlackBerry from BlackBerry App World or from the LinkedIn website. It's a free download.
