Samsung M1 on Vodafone PAYG for £80

Vodafone is offering its Vodafone 360 Samsung M1 smartphone at a low priced £80, with 30 days free web browsing and £50 worth of calls and texts included.
Once the first month offer is done with, Vodafone 360 will cost 50p a day. But you can also buy a 30-day web pack which costs £7.50 for 250MB usage within a 30-day period.
Only available in retail stores and not online, the handset is built to deliver the ‘Vodafone 360’ experience, which gathers together contacts from the handset, Facebook, Windows Messenger and Google Talk altogether on PC and mobile. Vodafone 360 should also back up your mobile content. You can also surf the net using an Opera browser.
The device will also have an in-built GPS so that users can take photos and add where exactly they are. The M1 has a 3.2-inch, 16 million colour TFT touchscreen display as well as a 3.2 megapixel camera with an 8x digital zoom.
The £80 set price seems pretty good value for what looks like a feature-rich device, with Samsung optimising the phone for the 360 service. It looks practical and fun, and should satisfy users looking for a cheaper and more basic smartphone experience.
The hardware isn’t amazing, but for this price you wouldn’t expect it, and of course won’t tie you to a long-term contract.
