Apple is likely to show off the iPhone OS 4 and a new iPhone at its Worldwide Developers Conference on 7 June.
The event runs from 7-11 June in San Francisco, and will most likely have a keynote speech by Steve Jobs, though this hasn’t been confirmed.
Last year the third-generation iPhone was revealed, and went on sell soon after. Observers expect the phone to have a front-facing camera and other new features.
The iPhone 4.0 OS has already been previewed, and this will have multitasking capabilities, although this will be only possible to use on the iPhone 3GS and after.
A device that was claimed to be a prototype of the new device has already been seen thanks to an Apple employee leaving it in a bar, which the website Gizmodo later bought and showed off to the world.
Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, said at the time, “We’re delivering over 100 new features, including multitasking, folders, a unified inbox, deeper Enterprise support, and an iPhone version of our iBooks reader and online iBookstore
But it isn’t confirmed that this is what we will be seeing at the conference. Apple has already had one big release with the iPad, which the company is hoping blazes a trail for tablet-style devices.
Is this the iPhone 4G?
