Apple sells its millionth iPad

Apple says that it has already reached the one million iPads sold milestone, about a month after it was released to the world on May 3.
The company also claimed that iPad users have already downloaded 12 million apps from the app store and 1.5 million eBooks from the iBookstore.
“One million iPads in 28 days—that’s less than half of the 74 days it took to achieve this milestone with iPhone,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO.
“Demand continues to exceed supply and we’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more customers.”
This is even though the iPad still hasn’t been released in the UK yet.. The iPad has lead to a rush of developers working on their own iPad-style devices, such as Toshiba and HP.
Its already been a year of change for Apple, with the release of the next-generation iPhone to come, though the build-up to the likely June release has been problematic to say the least.
An alleged prototype of what to come was left in a bar, which tech website Gizmodo got hold of and released to the world.
It aroused controversy because it could be regarded as stolen property by US law enforcement.
