Motorola has announced to its users that it has released the Android 2.1 update for its Milestone smartphone.
In an announcement on its Facebook page, it will have enhancements like Speech to Text, live wallpapers, up to nine home screens and security for exchange server users.
The live wallpapers will be animated, some which are already available, and some which are already available from the Android market.
With Speech to Text users will be able to speak when a text book appears on an Android device, which means you don’t need to type, done by pressing the key on the virtual keyboard.
It also has an updated version of Google Maps, which means that users will be able to get personalised suggestions based on their search history. There is also a free Facebook app and widget.
There will be also be other new features and performance enhancements from the upgrade, which Google has named ‘Eclair’, which debuted with the Google Nexus One earlier in the year.
It is a long awaited upgrade to the phone, and like HTC seems to be a little slow in matching Google’s considerable speed of development. Android 2.2 is thought to be coming out on devices soon.
The download is available here.
