Vodafone, Orange and O2 have all confirmed that they will be offering the iPhone 4 on its June 24 launch date, with retailers Phones 4 U and Carphone Warehouse also selling the device.
The iPhone 4 is set to go on sale on the same date as the US, France, Germany and Japan. This time it won’t be exclusive to one network with Vodafone and Orange already confirming that they will be joining in the fun.
Prices still haven’t been announced. However O2, the original exclusive iPhone retailer, said that it would be announcing a limited time special upgrade offer.
UK chief executive of O2 Ronan Dunne said, ““Apple has once again raised the bar with the iPhone 4.”
“With three years’ experience in selling the iPhone we are well placed to support the new device with the best overall experience, including making it easy for new and existing customers to get their hands one.”
The high-end smartphone market is now getting extremely crowded, with competing smartphones from the likes of HTC and Motorola giving mobile phone users a big choice of devices.
But from initial reactions, it seems that the new iPhone 4 has potentially raised the bar once again when it comes to smartphones, and the rest of the year will be very interesting.
