Orange gets Samsung Galaxy Apollo

Network operator Orange has announced the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Apollo Android smartphone (the i5081) on its network.

Orange will offer the device get to choose three exclusive coloured cases from a range of 8, and are redeemable after purchase. The device is available on Pay as You Go and Pay Monthly contracts, complete with an Orange Wednesday app installed.

The Samsung Galaxy is the latest Android-powered device, complete with an Android 2.1 OS. It has a 3.2 WVGA TFT LCD display, and a 3 megapixel camera with auto focus face detection. It also has DivX support for video.

Samsung touted it ‘social hub’, an integrated phonebook linking contacts across social networks such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter across one platform.
